It's great for Minny, if Jefferson does reach his All-Star potential in the West and McHale wisely spends the cash he'll be freeing up.
Barring any injuries, the Celts are going to the Finals. The personalities of Boston's new Big 3 presents ZERO chemistry issues. Each has had, throughout their careers, teammates that need A LOT of shots just to be effective.
These guys compliment each other extremely well. Pierce and Allen can create their own shots from the perimeter and post, but now have the leagues best passing big man to feed them. Garnett now has legitimate offensive threats from the outside, that can open things up for him down low. Both KG and Ray will have no problem deferring to Paul in 4th quarter situations.
The Celts now have a 3 year window. One title in that span would make it worth what Ainge just gave up. The only issue really, is the Western opponent. Once they begin to gel, the Celts will be scary. Throw in PJ Brown, and they've got a body and 6 fouls that can tie up Duncan for 48 minutes.
