A lot of people don't think much about Kimbo, but at the same time, he isn't mouthing off like some of the other guys, he has been somewhat humble actually. Give him the some time to train on his ground game and cardio and he will be a decent fighter. He has some natural talent.

so you want to keep seeing former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir beating up on a bunch of newcomers w/ less than 5 pro fights.
Both Lesnar and Kimbo are newcomers! They have no business fighting guys with 10+ pro fight at this stage in their carreer, much less fighting former champions. I guarantee you that no other mma greats started off with this stiff of competition. Fights like that, among other reasons are why MMA will continue to be regarded as entertainment rather than a sport.

If you want to promote yourself as the next best thing since sliced bread & be the featured event on a card, then you have to fight the best. If they want to fight up & comers like themselves, then let them fight on the undercards...................Plain & simple.......

thank you, my point exactly. knowing you still have alot to learn, you humble yourself and take less of a "i'm big and bad and will take on anyone" persona. saying stupid things like "tapping out is not in my repertoire " ahahaha wait until someone gets him in an armbar and is about to rip off his arm, we'll see if he taps out or not.
Every fighter talks big..none are going to say "I am going to tap out before I even hit the mat" It isn't stupid, it is just what fighters do, part of the mind game. Not to mention most fighters have a mantra that they will fight anyone put in front of them. You aren't going to play any mind games on somebody saying that you don't want to fight them.
You also got to realize, he was unable to defend himself for the last 40 seconds or so of the 2nd round and he was taking shots to the head. He didn't tap then. I am sure that didn't feel great. Or when he was in the guillotine choke in the first...he didn't tap then either.

i think this thread is about kimbo and not the sport itself. it is about the hype they promote. i believe i'm just stating that he is not all that.
at least brock came in there and fought someone with talent. even though he lost, fought like a pro. instead of winning like an amateur.

so are you saying that you want to continue seeing fighters who have 1-0 records competing against former champions. What does that prove? You seem to want MMA to continue being a spectacle and not a sport. Kimbo's third fight was against someone with 22 pro fights. Fedor didn't do that, Couture didn't do that. Only Lesnar, Choi, and Kimbo. Why? Because they are who the people paid to see!

Fedor and Couture didn’t have videos all over youtube with them beating up tomato can opponents and acting like those guys (the tomato cans) weren’t worth they're time. They didn’t have their entourage calling out the mma community.

First off Kimbo didn't film those fights. They were put up by his fans and street fighting promoters.
So he is a street fighting bigmouth because he says he will fight anyone. Keep in mind that he has never said that he can beat everyone. He has never once disrespected MMA fighters. You guys crack me up because you are acting as though he has.
In fact the video that SteveOhh posted is the fight that made him want to train in MMA. That loss let him know that he wasn't the baddest man on the planet. In fact he found that he was far from it. And the fact is he is still far from it. What you all seem to fear is that if he is successful, then maybe the fighters of MMA are not as good as we think they are. Thing is, every striker in MMA has a punchers chance (ex. Chuck Lidell). Every grappler in MMA has a grapplers chance (ex. Frank Mir).
