OT: Lakers is on the roll

And for Kobe's haters, look at his assists this year and last year: 5.3 and 5.4 respectively. How could you call him selfish player?

Oh no, the over hyped Lakers are on a 9 game streak against some of the worst teams in the league! Evreyone go run and hide! They were 20-11 at the beginning of Jan and now they are 39-16. Who can stop them? The answer is the GOOD teams who beat them during that time including:

The...
Celtics
PISTONS
Mavs
Spurs
Cavs

And who did LA beat?
Clippers
TWolves
Heat
Sonics
Grizzleys
Bucks

The Lakers are the best of the 2nd teir teams. They'll probably make the playoffs, Phoenix will take the division, and LA will be out in the first round.

GO PISTONS

Pistons will go all the way? you kidding right? The west own the NBA now. None of the east teams will be able to match up against lakers/spurs/suns. One of these 3 teams will go all the way. Right now, lakers is the favorite.

BTW, 5.3 assists per game is nothing to brag about when JKidd is putting up 10+. Kobe still takes more shots per minute he is in the game than anyone else. He is selfish. But he has to be because the rest of the team can't score for crap.

FYI... they beat the suns twice this season..

Also, they beat the pistons once by 12 points and the second time they lost by 1 point.

Yeah, they lost to good teams, but they did beat great teams as well. Unless you think the pistons are a carppy team? ;-)

Bladze, you obviously don't know what is happening in the NBA. How can the West "own" the NBA? I'll just apeak for the Pistons, but you can go check your facts before you look like a complete amateur.
Pistons:
1. Best record in NBA
2. 4-2 vs the West with a 4 game win streak (You LA people like streaks)
3. They just spanked Dallas 90-67 and Poenix 116-86

Is this being owned?

(Sorry, comes across as a little hostile. But, It's not easy being a Pistons fan out here)

Dude, I went to CAL for undergrad. I will NEVER like any LA teams. I will get stomped on for doing so

Sorry Terry,

Born on the East Coast and my loyalties are:
Football: The Steelers (True American Football)
Babseball: Yankees (Getting harder to say that every year)
Hockey: Devils (Still Great, just not winning as much)
Basketball: Pistons (True team ball, no individuals here)
Football(Premier League): Liverpool (You'll never walk alone)

That's cool, Matt. I like to see the hometown loyalty  That's what it's all about. I'm not about bandwagons!!!

You kidding right? They are eastern team and only 42-15? Sun is 25-3 against the east and they rank 3rd on the west. You tell me anyone in here beside you would take any team on the east against lakers/suns/spurs today?

The "East" is not one big team, some teams suck and some teams don't. Just like the West (Seattle, Minnesota, Memphis)

Phoenix is not a good choice to use as an example. Sure, they are MUCH better than LA, but they only played Detroit onceand the got their A$$ handed to them116-86.

SA has also lost to Boston, Cleveland and Detroit once a piece with only one win against Cleveland.

And, your precious Lakers haven't won a game against the top three in the East since their first win against Detroit.

So, there is no dominance here......OH WAIT THERE IS! The PISTONS have beaten every one of the teams you listed.

you might be forgot, I said right now/today. They just added Gasol and wait until Bynum back, you east teams are history.

BTW, SA lost during those time cuz Tony Parker was out injured. We'll see the rest of the season if the east will have any chance at all... maybe Pistons LOLz

Lets not talk about " GASOL TRADE " that's the biggest sweetheart deal that Jerry West gave his old team with a blessing from David Stern. Stern's dream is another Faker/Celtics rivalry like the old days. That deal if you ask every other GM has ??????? all over it especially with all the other better deals they were offered. This sweetheart deal was one of the biggest BS that David stern has allowed since the , Pat Ewing to KNICKs and the spurs having able to nab the 2 great big men in Robinson/Duncan. Lets not even dabble in the BS of YAO going to houston with 3 other teams having worse fortunes than them.

The Fakers will taper off, and can someone put a tape on Kobe's mouth, that *****made cry's and expects a foul everytime he drive's in. So happy he got booted out a game a couple days ago. He *****es at the refs all game and intimidates them but the league dosn't do crap. F that WANNA BE JORDAN. He'll never be mike nor greater than mike.

Kings fans I can tolorate, LAFaker fans I can deal with.

If the Warriors were in the Eastern Conference, they'd have the 4th best record instead of having to fight for a playoff spot. Some have even suggested that the Western Conference has become so dominant that the playoff system should be based on the records of the 16 best teams in the NBA.

Here is what the statistics prove:

Season West Record Vs. East
2006-07 257-193
2005-06 252-198
2004-05 256-194
2003-04 266-154
2002-03 250-170
2001-02 232-188
2000-01 259-161
1999-2000 227-193

That totals for a 1,999-1,451 record for the Western Conference, a .579 winning percentage. Additionally, the Western Champion has won the NBA Championship 7 of the past 9 years, with many of the series not very competitive. This is not a cycle or a trend that is going to change any time soon (particularly with this year’s lottery results). During the 2006-07 regular season, five of the best six records in the NBA belonged to the West. The entire starting five of the First Team All-NBA were all Western Conference players. At the All-Star Break, the five best records in the league were in the West. This had NEVER happened in NBA history.
