OT: Mantis shrimp in the belly of a bluefish!

Went fishing the other day and caught a 26 inch 5.5 lb blue fish. Got the bluefish gutted at the dock and lo and behold, I found 3 of these guys in its belly. I never knew they would go for such a thing, especially since they are called "thumb splitters"


I took the pic with my camera phone, sorry for the blurriness.

Just a note to anyone with a hitchhiker mantis, we've found the cure! Just toss in a "blue fish" whatever that is.

bluefish are extremely voracious feeders, so they eat pretty much anything that fits in their mouths.

they make a great bait. when we fish for bull reds and bull black drum we use them for bait. nothing else eats them but the bull drum.
