OT: Monthly Electric Bill

Yeah, but past due balances don't count! :D

:lol::lol::lol:

Ouch! That's what I'm expecting this summer when the A/C gets turned on.

BTW, there are 2 energy suppliers that are below the .10/kwh price. Even if I save $20 I guess that's 20 dollars more I can spend on my tank!

I'm jealous.......last bill $648

That's not fair, you have the mum-in-law's place that's heated by electric.

Since I forgot to add to my first post, my bill ranges from $235 to $325 (this last month was $375 though). I budget $350 a month for electric and just put the leftover into dinner out. The cheapest is spring and fall when the AC and heat are both off, or only on part time.

150-180 a month... I think the most was 250 but I was using an electric heater. This is a 1200 sq/ft single level single family home

I'm sure much has to do with size of house. Anyone care to share that? I'm in 3350 sq.ft but my Mom lives with us (cut me with a butter knife!) so we built out the basement for her. It adds another 1125 sq. ft to the house but (total 4475) she basically uses nothing down there. A TV and some lights in the evening time.

I did speak with a DPUC representative today and she said that CT is one of the most expensive states for electricity. Something about the channels it has to go thru to get here that make it very costly. It's hard to think about electricity as a physical being. Like getting water here by pipes I guess:fun5:

Mine is about $320 each month in the winter and I have gas heat. One thing I notice is that we are charged 2 GSC (general service charges). Why is that does anyone know? Its ridiculous if u ask me, if u check this site you can compare prices. http://ctenergyinfo.com/display_rates.htm All I know is I was on a job today working and there were 10 CL&P guys there for 5 hours out of the 10 2 of them were working. Made me feel real good about my latest bill watching that!!!!!

i think the real question is how much does it cost to run your tank and all of the accessories haha

Yep!! How much MORE am I going to have to pay....:worried:

Sort of like beating a dead horse (sigh). I'm still putting my tank up either way:bounce1:

Mine fluctuates between 175 and 215 depending on days in the billing cycle. I have 5 tanks running although three are freshwater and not huge energy users. Also, colder weather still effects electricity in my house because my furnace still uses electricity to kick on. FWIW.

to add 2100 sq ft plus partially finished basement and my wife and I are not home during the day so most of our electricity is the tanks.
