This past year of working offshore in the Pacific has allowed me to see some really neat things in nature. I thought that I would share some of these with you guys.
Neat looking trigger caught on a hook- looks like a canthidermis maculates...spotted oceanic triggerfish - this guy was really mad - we were fishing for tuna so we caught and released him
This Mahi was for dinner.....
When we fish for a while the schools of smaller fish looking to take advantage of an easy meal tend to show up - usually a ton of triggers - and our fish caught get picked on
Not much left of this Mahi or Yellow finned tuna after the triggers took their turn - they scare me more than sharks
The barracuda also do some damage with those choppers
On a more peaceful note - a whale shark came for a visit....
Fat guy with his tuna
I'll upload some more pics later and update this thread...
