anyone see that netflix is sending out disks so you can stream on the wii awesome now I dont have to pay 9 for netflix and 9 for xbox live. now my xbox 360 that I just got a 120 gig hard drive and modded will collect dust

heard they were starting this up in the Spring. I'll have to check it out and see if it compares to the quality I get with Netflix streaming via my PS3.

FYI - you can get XBox Live 12-month cards for $30 when they are on sale, $35 pretty much anytime.

yeah the hd part is a downfall but to be honest I have a nice lcd 1080 but its not a big thing to me my disk should be here today

do you have the component cables for the Wii? vs. the crappy RCA video cable they give you when you buy the Wii.

At least then you can do 480p vs. the default 480i and switch the Wii to widescreen to get 16:9.

if you log onto netflix there is a place that you can order the disk I did it a few months ago I guess this is a pre release or something like that

nah, i didn't get the e-mail, but i knew it was coming from reading forums.

Yep - I have Netflix. I use my PS3 and my XBOX to stream from them (one for living room, one for upstairs). I probably won't use the Wii disk because it is in the same room as the PS3 and would just be redundant (and lower quality).

On the PS3 the video quality is great, but they only stream in 2.1 audio which makes me angry. :) You get used to full surround sound.

The other thing I heard is they are working on adding subtitles as an option. I don't use subtitles that often, but comes in handy when watching Dr. Who or Torchwood - sometimes I have to rewind 3 or 4 times to understand something due to the accent (or words/phrases that are unique to the UK).

I just hopped on netflix and signed up for the Wii disk to be sent to me when it is available. Thanks for the offer - I'm sure I could burn a quick copy of your disk if mine is delayed.

Any of you received the disk yet? I hadn't heard about this so I just checked it out and it basically claims the disk will ship "when available this spring."

Now if only Netflix would support a Linux-compatible player.

still waiting for mine. i hope it works well cause then I dont need the xbox i never use it for anythng else

got the disk put it in within say 3 minutes after activating it online its good to go you can definitely see a big difference on the resolution but movies work fine and definitely look good just not as good as the xbox 360

My wife is a huge fan of it on the xbox. She hates the ps3 verison. It is kind of silly to have to put in a disc to stream the movies.

It would be nice to see more Linux support as a whole. I used to dual boot, I stopped after I found going back to windows all too much.

We have a Lenovo S10 that's our "kick around the house" computer. It came with XP, which frustrates me. It's the only Windows machine in the house. I have it dual booting into the Ubuntu Netbook respin, which is a blissful operating system for a netbook. It's lightweight and tends to "just work" out of the box. The ONLY reason I keep the XP instance on the machine is so our kids can watch kids' shows through Netflix.

I'm about to break down and put OSX on it because then I'd have a *nix-like operating system with Netflix compatibility.

yep, that works great for the XBOX - actually you don't need the disk at all, just load the service up.

But you can't do that on the PS3. I just keep the disk in the PS3 all the time. I use it to stream movies a lot more than I play games.

thats why I just put the disk on my hard drive
