OT - New pets in the Postal family

We went to the reptile show at the fairgrounds yesterday so Dylan could pick out a new pet for his birthday. His grandparents had given him some money, he had saved his allowance, and we pitched in some case for this straight A's this quarter.
He had narrowed the list down to hedgehog, tarantula, bearded dragon, uromastyx, sand boa, and pygmy chameleons. Even though he has wanted a tarantula for awhile, he scratched that and the chameleons because he wanted something you could handle a little more than those two. So he went through the entire show and finally settled on a uromastyx (because the hedgehog was $150).
He also wanted a sand boa but not as much. However, he knew I wanted a boa too, so he offered to pitch in 1/2 if I would pay 1/2. (Kid is going to be a used car salesman). So that is what we ended up doing.

Although the best part of yesterday was my wife's post on Facebook when we went to lunch after the reptile show:

At Red Lobster with 1 sand boa, 1 lizard, 1 bag of frozen pinkie mice, 100 meal worms and 110 crickets. pretty sure I could clear this place out in 10 seconds flat.

Here are some quick phone pics, with better pics to come later.

That sand boa is NICE... I had one years ago and they are tame as could be..
The Uro is more of a challenge, if it is WC then I would make sure it is parasite free and keep it's eyes clean. They get eye infections and sometimes won't eat... GOOD LUCK!

The sand boa will only max at at about 18" since it is a male.
The uro is already doing well. Handles easily and is eating well already. We surveyed the entire show and he seemed the most active and healthy of the uros we saw. Plus he came from a local shop that I have had success with in the past.

Thanks
