working... with needle..

i have enough that dont..

what i would really like to find is an old floor model radio/combo that works, and has a needle..

also, if you know of a good local source of related parts and such that would be nice to hear about..

i have seen a couple on craigslist but nothing with a picture..

There is a place in portsmouth on 2nd street that sells phonographs and supplies, the even sell ones that record records to cd, I know defeats the purpose but still neat. If I can remember the name I'll let you know but that might get you started.

I know up till about a year or so ago that Radio Shack still carried needles at most locations. I had to get one for my turntables.

so does pied piper up at southridge.... look for a direct drive turntable from technics they are very good and cheap if you can find one

i can order a needle online from radio shack for about 20 bucks, or i can get a new to me, floor model for under 50 if i keep my eyes open..

i messed up and turned down a 45 dollar, or less.. floor model that was in great shape about 1 week before i found out mine needed a needle..

just get a direct drive turntable if you can... belt drive generally aren't as good.. and the belts are hard to come by when they start slipping.......
