OT: (on topic?) Go paperless!

Awesome, now if I can only stop getting junk mail in my mailbox. That ones difficult to stop. Even a note inside my box telling the mail carrier not to put that crap in there they still do it. It's like it's mandatory that 1 bill=5 pieces of junk mail.

See my latest post on the green thread.

Obviously these drastic measures are not realistic as far as happening any time soon, but when will they?

"Now, children, come on over here. I'm going to tell you a bedtime story. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. Once upon a time, there lived a magnificent race of animals that dominated the world through age after age. They ran, they swam, and they fought and they flew, until suddenly, quite recently, they disappeared. Nature just gave up and started again. We weren't even apes then. We were just these smart little rodents hiding in the rocks. And when we go, nature will start over. With the bees, probably. Nature knows when to give up,"

It will probably happen when the bees take over.

IMHO, by the time society went "paperless" enough to erase the jobs used by de/forestation operations, there's be such a need for tech related jobs and such a high amount of tech savvy unemployed, that it would balance out. Moving focus from one thing only opens up demand in another area. Just my 2c.

^^^ I agree 100%. that's the evolution I'm speaking of. Problem is, like all things, it takes time.

Mail carriers are obligated by law to deliver any pieces of mail sent to the address. Not doing so would make him or her guilty of a federal crime. Advertising companies have successfully argued that their ability to send out junk mail is speech and as such protected. Don't like it, find a different Supreme Court :)

Unfortunately, all the electronic gadgets cause a great deal of nasty pollutants, contaminants and other really bad things. Most of the time they are not recyclable, and, unfortunately, most people have bought into the media hype where we have to have the latest and greatest doodad on the market.

That's why I am going paperless and electonicless. Anyone know how I can get RC over the Amazon, tropical rainforest area and not the electronic seller, drum network? :jester:

^^ yeah rumor has it that RC is going to offer a new "smoke signal" option for those who do not have access to the interwebz.
