OT: PADI dive school recommendations anyone?

Curious if anyone here has been PADI open water certified recently and can recommend a reputable dive shop / instructor in Broward.

I've been making some rounds and it seems the average price for open water is about $350. Does that sound about right to what you paid?

ive been looking into getting my wife certified and have the same question I came across a shop that certifies you books included 1 beach dive and 1 boat dive for 500.00 I was thinking that's kind of steep butits been a while since I got certified.

I didn't do my certs here, but I have a friend that did and said they were great.

We have dived with them, and service has been great, the boat is brand new and huge, and everyone has been really helpful. (I had to just replace my mask that went overboard on my last dive, and they told me if I ever have a problem with this new one, they will swap it out for something else until I find one that I am happy with).

My gf & I just finished getting certified down in homestead at Aquatic Ops for $250 each. The dude is real good & friendly. They provided everything and worked around our schedule and went at our pace... highly recommend them, specially at that price. Ask for Derek, #786 312 4421.

I have one I can't recommend enough. I use Gold Coast Scuba off commercial Blvd. They are fantastic, run an awesome meetup group to network with other divers in the area for beach/boat dives, and they provide good quality cheap air fills. Check them out and tell them Jordan sent you

ForceE in pompano Gary Davis not only a instructor but a master instructor so he teaches teachers to teach lol great guy and great skills he did all my Certs up till dive master on the recreational side

These people are awesome!! I didn't do my open water with them but I did my nitrox with them and it was an awesome experience. I was in a small class which is what unlike because it allows for more one on one in case you are unsure about everything. Will do any other certifications with them in a heartbeat!!
