OT: Question About An Online Purchase

Just wondering what is the liability of an online company if they have an item for sale on their site that is obviously mis-priced. I bought the item and I received the invoice. I also checked my credit card and they have deducted the full purchase amount including shipping. I know this is defintely mis- priced. Are they liable to send the item even though they discover the error?

Once shipped, can they come back to me and charge me for more or are they required to stick with the "advertised" price? I looked at the purcahse agreement and all over their site and could not find a disclaimer absolving them of liability due to errors and ommissions.

I prefer not to name the site at this time until I get my stuff:D

if they ship it and it arrives it's yours and they can't charge you any extra, if they discover it beforehand it's another matter altogether though, since they can cancel the order

i thought it was the law that companys had to honor the displayed purchase price... if you go to savon's and the tag says $5 even though it is a $10 they have to sell you the item for the marked price..

Gabe-
I don't believe so, if a merchant makes an honest mistake, they do NOT
have to take the hit, same applies to a printing error. Dennis

Most businesses also have a policy that they can refuse service to anybody at any time. If the misprint is that far off, they can always resort to the refuse service policy. Not good business practice, but it can be done......
