OT rainbow around the sun???

Did anyone else see the rainbow around the sun today ? I was wondering if anyone has any info on what cause it .

Cool thanks for the info . I have seen some really interesting stuff but never a rainbow around the sun till today . I will have to add it to my list of cool and interesting things I have seen .

They're called sundogs. I got a picture of it but it's at work. I'll try and remember to post it tomorrow.

I damn near went blind trying to look at it and take pictures. We finally figured out to put our sunglass lens over the camera lens to take the picture.

It was pretty cool - the first time in 43 years I'd ever seen such a thing.

I saw it...there was a raincloud blocking the sun somewhat and there was a rainbow in a C-shape around the sun....pretty awesome!!

We seen this about 3 weeks ago, but did not look that good as the pic. Then again after trying to look at it all we could see is spots.. It was cool, never seen it before.
