Hey Boys, Greetings from the Smokies

Here's a few shots of what the smokies look like from Clingmans Dome. 6500 feet up. The clouds were in arms reach...

Wow stunning scenery Matt, thanks for sharing the pictures!

I'm going to denver soon to visit my sister and it just makes me more excited about being around a different elevation than FL!

I was in the same spot last October and everything is covered in snow and the wind was blowing about 40 knots. It was still a pretty drive.

NICE PICS!!! Thanks for sharing them. Looks like we may need to plan a tripout there for next year. I would love top go there.

nice area. though i can't stand the heights

i guess i hear crickets:(

Nice - That's where my mom's family (kin) is from - I know it well!

You know, Jean has been bugging me for another road trip....
She keeps talking about the Dragon...... :eek2:

I said maybe next year........

So now she's been looking for a trailer since her sister got a trailer in a bag, then said something about Sturgis

I think I've created a monster.

We're taking a ride with the SCRC this Sunday. Heading over to Indian River Lagoon to a place called Capt. Hirams.

Let me know if anyone wants to ride along.

Nick

Nice pictures. I road my Harley ultra Classic on the Blue Ridge last May on my way to Rolling Thunder.

Nice pics, the group that I ride most of the time went to the Dragon 2wks ago, I could't make it due to work.

We rode the Dragon twice yesterday... holy $%#@@*... Without a doubt the most technical riding I've ever done... Over 300 turns and twisties in less than 11 miles... crazy... While you're riding those twisties, there's a couple dudes hiding in the bushes behind some of the turns snapping pictures of "all" the riders cruising past. And theres a website where you can buy photos of yourself... amazing... I'm still waiting for those pics to get posted and I'll stick 'em up here.
After the dragon we rode the cherohala skyway which may be arguably the most beautiful rode in North America. The view of the Smokies was incredible.

Not sure what I'm going to do when I get back to Fl... Probably have to ride out in Clermont and Montverde once in a while to get even remotely close to twisties and turns to get my fix...

Even if you don't have a bike and want to ride some of most beautiful roads on the planet, you got to drive a short 10 hours north to the smokies...

Check out the bottom photo. It's the "Tree of Shame"... It's located at the entrance to the dragon. Folks who've wrecked nail their bike parts to the tree... You can see in this photo the volume of parts nailed and hung all up inside that tree and there's also a pile laying beneath it...

By the way... has anyone been out to the Gatlinburg Aquarium..? If so, is it fresh or Salt or both..? We past it the other day and it looked like something pretty cool to see.

They do have the Rainforest exhibit which is freshwater, but I'm sure would be cool to check out anyways :)
