OT: RO/DI water or Nursery water for babies?

I was just curious if using the store bought nursery water has any advantages/disadvantages over RO/DI water. The nursery water says it has natural flourine, but the TDS is like 400+ compared to my RO/DI water that is at 003 currently.
Thank you for your thoughts and experiences.

I sure don't think DI water is a good idea for drinking water for an infant.

There is not a clear position that I'm aware of (and I keep up on this one pretty well) re the effects of adults drinking DI water. But with an infant, no sense taking any chances whatsoever, IMO.

Besides - DI water doesn't taste good.

Raised both of my kids on RO water (Never Bothered with DI until I moved to the land of Liquid Rock...) starting with the formula. Now I've got a 4'3" 7 year old and a 4' 5 year old. I don't think the water made any difference at all...

Russ is right tho, non-drinking water grade DI treated does taste bad...

For what it is worth, I have the water going through an inline GAC filter for taste/odor removal. I was just surprised at how high the TDS in nursery water is. It is worse than my tap water! I still boil the nursery water just in case, but was wondering if I could boil the RO/DI water too. I could skip the DI portion to run to my faucet?

Manuals suggest to tee in drinking water before the DI resin...I would say that is better than store bought water. Not sure if baby water sold is RO or distilled. Hope this helps....Carl

There is flouride in the nursery water. They are supposed to have flouride even before their teeth come out.

There's actually a ton of controversy regarding the need/use of floride in drinking water. A google search will give you more than you'd ever want to read about on the topic...

Lots of conflicting information out there. ADA recommends using water that is labeled purified, demineralized, deionized, distilled or reverse osmosis filtered water because infants tend to get to much flouride before 6 months of age. They recommend using all ready prepared formula (very expensive!). Just with anything, I guess it depends who you talk too!
