Mark... I would take a hard look at the fine print of the damage warrenty and the cost. They rarely make any sense.
Let me put it another way. If you regularly buy technology, then they make no sense. The premiums far outwiegh the value of the unit after a few month. On large items you can get much cheaper (albiet deductable) coverage through most homeowners policies. If you buy those silly plans on everything, the premiums far surpass the replacment value of any one or two of the items and odds are you will not ever et your value out of them. They push these things for a reason.... they make a fortune off of them. It's the new marketing cash cow from wal-mart to circuit city and even etailers.
If this is your one big lifetime purchase, then yeah... it makes some sense in some cases.
