OT:Steve Erwin Reported dead

I just wanted to let people know that I saw this on the news here. It said that he is currently being reported dead as a result of a stingray sting. I'm not sure if anyone would care but I loved the guy and he did do alot for all kinds of animals around the world. I'd be sad to see him go if it is true.

Bummer. I really liked the guy. It's kind of like an F1 racer being killed on the way to the grocery store. Well, I guess he becomes a legend like Senna.

To be honest he really irritated me but its always sad when someone dies.

Sad part is, he leaves behind his wife Terry, their two childen an 8yr old little girl, and their 3yr old son.

On the up side, Terri won't have to pretend anymore that she's ok with all the stuff he did ..

I actually got to meet Steve, and his wife/children while I was in California on business one time. He was in LAX with his family catching a flight back home to AUS.. No one seemed to recognize him, but I got his autograph..

I guess it's a keepsake now..

It is so sad.

I love stingrays, but I think I have underestimated their potential danger. I'll be a little more apprehensive now when I approach one in the wild.

At least his family will be able to relive memories through watching all the different tapings of him.
