So I just bought a brand new 07 Civic EX and I'm going to tomorrow to pay the sales tax. Since its brand new, I should have to get it inspected and emission tested, right?? God I hate the DMV!!!
If I remember correctly, I didn't need to go get the emissions on my Durango when I first got it due to age of vehicle. And usually the dealer will give you the safety with your papers.
Justin is correct , no need for inspections for the first 2 years off a vehicle. Make sure you have the other 27 pieces of paper they need you to have.
when I was in there last year after I moved some guy came in with a photo copy of his birth certificate and they wouldnt take it, he got all ****ed and said "its not like my last name is bin laden" and stormed out
everyone laughed at him after he left
the worst thing Ive had to deal with is the title transfer thing...since I obviously didnt just cut a check for my car its on loan from a bank and we had to get the bank to send the original title to missouri on the promise that they'd send it back....I think it went pretty smoothly
i'm going to have deal with those idiots this fall... both of my cars are due for reregistering.
but the other guys are right, i'm 99% sure new cars don't need to inspections and stuff.
also, i hate you. i want a new civic badly. my 03 civic will be payed off in febuary though and i'd love to drive around for at least a year without car payments.
