OK - I'm not fan of off topic posts but here's my last. Do any of you have cork flooring? My tanks would not be on it - just next to it.

I don't think it's off topic at all! I'm still trying to figure out tile vs wood for my floor and the aquariums are a big consideration.

Cork wouldn't be under the tanks - they are on tile. I'm curious about cork in the rest of the room. I love the feel of cork vs wood on my bare feet. I wonder if the humidity from tank evap would be adequate to keep cork or wood happy. Hopefully salt in the air wouldn't be a problem. As far as cork floors, people who like them love them. Some forums I've read say it is resilient and durable for pets - not as easily scratched as wood. Others (who don't have cork floors incidentally) say cork would just get ripped up in no time. I wish I knew someone who had cork floors - especially in the desert. sigh.

Oh I agree on that. I guess I was wondering about the inevitable salt spray that gets on the areas immediately adjacent. On the other hand, most of the floor is not immediately adjacent to the tanks.
