OT: Theus to be next kings head coach

Hmmm, I never considered them moving to SF. Guess that could happen.

I'm FAR less enamored with sports in general, nowadays. With all the prima donnas and their criminal activity. I commend the city of Sacramento for not wanting to spend the money on a new arena (as long as it doesn't go to the officials vacation and gift expenses).

If the Kings leave we have no new arena. Without a new arena there will be no place for Concerts, Disney on ice for the kids, graduations, the list goes on and on. That arena generates millions of dollars if not billions for the area of Sacramento. Who cares about athlete's getting in trouble we need that arena for the benefit of the community. Besides Athlete's are no different these days then they were 30 years ago the only difference is there are more athletes more money and more media outlets to broadcast it. Ever heard of Ty Cobb;)

Good point about the other activities a new arena could offer.

I know of Tex Cobb, but not Ty Cobb. It's hard comparing eras in every aspect, and perhaps the media just plays a much bigger role today. The more extensive coverage and society's willingness to forgive athletes just sends a poor message to kids:(

What was this thread about again?:p

I was listening to Grant and Mike(1140) just the other day and Grant was going on and on about the Kings would never pick Reggie as their coach. Can't wait to tune in and see what he says today.
I guess Grant doesn't have the inside track...........

There is is only team in the NFL worth a damn. The Dallas Cowboys baby!

I don't know....... for someone who's QB "dropped the ball" or should I say "mishandled the ball"..... in a big, big way......when it counted the most..... there shouldn't be so many QB judgements handed down...

Just kidding bro, I know that was a low blow.

At least your team made it to the post season last year!!!!!

Back to the matter at hand,

After reading up on sacbee.com, it appears that the Brothers Maloof had more of a say in the coaching matter then the man they pay to make these types of decisions.... and I still don't get it.

They have to be getting ready to pull out. They are just too smart to not notice the severe LACK of talent and leadership on THEIR NBA team!!!

And if Stern does allow them to do so, I don't blame him. In the end, it not about players, its not about coaches and its not about arenas, its all about cash money. And if Sactown won't step up so the Maloofs and the NBA can make some more of that cash money, then the Maloof Brothers and the NBA would be doing bad business by staying.... And they just don't do bad business. So they're gonna find somewhere else that will do good business. Maybe Vegas, maybe back to K.C. Who knows. But its our own fault :(

Jim

Here's the scoop from out here-Maloofs are looking to buy the Rio property across the way from the Palms and build an arena behind the hotel, making Theus the coach makes more sense if this is the case, looking for some home town support I guess, if this turns out to be true.Las Vegas Kings hmm....
