OT - Time to get a new van

My wife crashed her car  .. I'm looking to buy a new van for her. I like Honda and Toyota. I have a Honda Odyssey now. The new Toyota looks pretty good. Any feed back on the Toyota or the new Honda???
Thanks

Everyone is OK. Cost $6000 to fix the car. Asian women can't drive  :D (Ok not everyone but 95% of the women in my wife family)

I heard honda has noise issue at the back. My co-worker has a 05 odyssey he said it is noise at the back when you're on the free way. However, I still like the odyssey so our next car will still be odyssey.

noise?

that's not very descriptive. many cars have noises.

compared to every other car out there, the problems honda has are much better.

toyota or honda you can't go terribly wrong with either, and a van? is there a need for a van? (ie soccer mom, business, etc) or is just for the security feeling you're lulled into with larger cars?

Well Toyota cost way more than Honda and I don't know if it's any better..

I like Van because if we have to go somewhere, it's very comfortable to drive and roomy (So my wife can carry 10 luggages of shoes and clothes for 1 day trip). When you get used to a van/suv, you don't like small car any more.

If they have van like those in the US, I'm sold on a van. I opted for a grand cherokee.... wished I bought a Japanese brand SUV or van.

We're looking into getting a sienna than the Odyssey. But I like the highlander hybrid. More mileage. I wish the sienna came in a hybrid as well.

We are looking more toward's the sienna all wheel drive. I only wished the Odyssey came in an AWD as well.

Wish VAN.

AWD Hybrid - Honda Odyssey.

Subaru looks really nice but won't work for my wife. The way she drives, the last thing I want to get for her is an SUV ...

I was shopping for a van for a few years and I have decided I will get a Sienna.

Like you, my choices were narrowed down to a Sienna or an Odyssey. I read pages of reviews and asked friends. I've test drove both. I liked both vans.

The Sienna got the vote because my wife bought a Camry in 2002. We really like the dealer. They consistently get good ratings from customers. So, in the end, I figured a Sieena would be easier for us to maintain, and a dealer/shop that I trust. My $0.02.

I use to maintain my own vehicles, but now I'd rather just bring it in.

Another minor yet unforgettable issue regarding the Odyssey was when they first came out with the "Stow-away-seats", Honda dealers wanted around $1K to as much as $5 OVER the MSRP for their vans. They quoted me something like a "real-value-worth" stuff. Left a bitter taste, and I just figure the other vans would copy it. Now all vans have this feature.

I haven't bought a van because I really do not need it-yet. Now, there is speculation that the Sienna will come out with a hybrid in 2007. so I figure I'll wait until 2008 and buy a hybrid. In the meantime, I just go the my Toyata dealer and rent a van whenever we need one.

You went to the wrong dealer sid700. I didn't have to pay 1k or 5k over the MSRP price for my van (I got it when it was still HOT). I did have to pay the MSRP price. I couldn't talk them down anymore :D ..

So Toyota is going to release the Sienna Hyrid in 2007??.. I'm wondering how much it will cost. Looking at the price of the Prius, I would think it will be very expensive if you can get one.
