OT was curious wheres the cheapest place to purchase Disney tickets

So far as I know there are few places out there that legitemately sell discount tickets. I know AAA has some discounts but you'll have to check with them. Showing disney at the time of purchase you are a florida resident should give you some discount also but again I'm not exactly sure on which passes.

UCF offers students single day passes that are something like $49 instead of the near $70 or $80 whatever they are and can be purchased from the ticketmaster in the student union but a valid student ID needs to be shown. if you have any friends who are students they can get them for you.

Other than that check out http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwtixdiscounts.html for more details on saving for disney tickets.

Hope it helps!

We went to Universal a few weeks ago and purchased tickets at the gate. There was NO discount for being a FL resident. BUT, they told us if we purchased the tickets online, there would have been. I think tickets online have to be purchased 24 hours in advance...not sure about that though...Just an FYI....

If you can find a cast member selling them on craigslist or something, they are just as good as any you will but anywhere else. I get mine for free from a friend of my son's that does face painting and there is no difference between them and the ones you buy online or at the gate. Also don't pay the parking prices when you go. Park at Downtown Disney and take a free bus to any resort hotel, then a bus to any park from there. The bus system there is great, and the parking is FREE at Downtown Disney. It's like $14 at the parks. When you are done, just take a bus back to Downtown and go home lol.

For many, the time value of money, considering the amount of time spent going from Downtown Disney to a resort by bus and then boarding another bus to the chosen park, then reversing the order on the way back, it's worth the $11 ~ $14 to pay for parking. Additionally, if you purchase one of the multi-day ticket options directly from Disney, your parking is included in the price.

If time is of no concern to you and you don't mind spending a fair amount of it on a bus, then your free option might not be so bad.

Before I lived down here, we used to come down for vacation every year... I've ridden the busses many times and though you are correct in that they have a good bus system, it still consumes a large portion of time (multiple stops per route for most busses) and I tend to look more at the time value of money that could be spent doing something else other than riding the bus.

I don't think i have ever spent more than 30 minutes taking the bus even on a busy day. That's $30 an hour lol, worth my time.

30 minutes each way?

I've never spent less than 30 on a bus for eaach leg... typically is 15-20 minutes from downtown Disney to a resort... wait for 10~15 minutes for the next bus, then 15~20 minutes to the park... that's in the neighborhood of 45 minutes each way in a crammed, overcrowded bus. If I'm on a schedule, that could mean an extra 1.5 hours spent in the park or might make the difference between whether I can make it to the park that day or not. $14 is well worth 1.5 hours of my time, especially when I have a tired mama and two kids in tow.

The busses aren't as bad September through April when the crowds are lower so perhaps that might be more appealing then.

It all boils down to perspective.

Never been there during the summer months it's just too hot on all that cement to enjoy, so it may not be so good if it's that crowded this time of year, but when it's not busy, it's the way to go. I always have the wife and 2 kids in tow too. Disney has more than thier share of my money lol. I have been known to park in visitor parking and spend the day at the pool drinking $7 margaritas at the resorts on more than one occassion lol.

In regards to the parking, I believe many of the sit down restaurants in the hotels will validate your parking ticket.

For a GREAT site with all kinds of disney info to help plan your trip use Deb's webpage at allearsnet.com

We have annual passes but all you have to do is tell them you are going to buy annual passes and they wave you through free. It's up to you if it bothers your conscience.

Didn't they used to? Maybe it was years ago they start to blend together ;p I just seem to recall that if you actually ate at a resort restaurant they would. Hrmmm. Darn memory!

I have done the Downtown Disney parking and find it is easiest just to take the bus right to the Contemporary resort and then walk to the gate from there. Its not far and its only one bus leg then. Alternately you can take the monorail from the Polynesian, Grand Floridian or the Contemporary and all 3 have bus service to Downtown Disney.
