OT - where I've been for six months...

Well I haven't been around to keep up with anything here lately but I'm going to back in the swing soon. I ended up rebuilding a pontoon boat for my sister and brother-in-law. I've spent about the last 6 months on it non-stop but we floated it last weekend so now I need a week or two to get the garage, the house, my shop, and my brain back in shape and I'll be back to reefing, yea!!

It went from this;

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being active with the club again and I probably owe some dues for this year so if somebody tells where and when to pay I'll square up there too! Looking forward to the next Pizza night!!

Wow, I thought that first picture was the finished product. I was thinking a St. Charles ghetto pontoon built of plywood and burn barrels :). Kidding. That boat looks incredible.

That's nice... Great Job..

Right now the only thing in the works is a Frag swap on Oct 21st.

We have been talking about another Pizza night, if anyone wants it that is :D

Glad to hear you finished that thing, it looks great!. I can only imagine the feeling of relief you had cracking open the first cold Natural Light on the water! How is it having a driveway again? Congrats!!

Nice pontoon!!!! When's the party????

Joining is easy, just buy me pizza and beer at the next Pizza night and we will call it good:D:beer:

Wow nice job... Love the chrome look

We need to have a pizza night on a weekend so I can come back from MIZZOU for it!

DID YOU CHROME THOSE PONTOONS OR JUST POSHISH THE CRAP OUT OF THEM I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER SAW THEM LIKE THAT.

That thing came out mint. How the hell did you manage to make that beater boat look so dam good

Thanks Guys! I worked a lot of hours on it. I had to acid etch it twice, then sanded it with 320, then wet sanded with 400, then buffed, and buffed and buffed. Then, I switched to a finer compound and buffed a whole lot more. Then I switched to an orbital waxer and buffed the whole thing some more, and then it was really shiney. I put a sealer on it so I hope it holds up.

UMM, Nook, I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure my dues would only cost about 1/4 of your beer and pizza consumption but thanks anyway. :)

Oh well, had to make the offer:D

I has a 70HP Johnson which I was very surprised by, it ran out really nice. Not overly fast but right around 20-22mph I think. We just wanted something to putt around on and have some cold ones. The boat will live at Bull Shoals Lake. My Sister has a really nice house on the lake and a covered dock that they will keep the boat in.

When are you taking it down? Maybe we can hook up we are going down in a week or two to winterize the boat and do some outside clean up around the house

We dunked it last weekend actually. It was quite the fiasco overall but it ended well. When I loaded it on the trailer I messed up and when I tried to pull it out the tonn tapped the driveway and it peeled open the bottom seam. I really just wanted to sit down and cry :( However, we took to Shockey's(sp?) at the lake and he welded it up quickly and then we had him rig the outboard and get it all adjusted due to how late it had gotten and he did a great job. We didn't end up in our dock until 10PM Saturday night. We had to leave after a short cruise Sunday. I'm hoping to get back down there in a few weeks. I'll let you know when I have firmer plans though. It would be fun to hook up!

Yeah! We can anchor your boat in a cove as the place to relax and swim and take my boat out to tube and ski (next year maybe Im betting the water is too cold by now)
