Ok so I'm new to the area, moved from Tampa Florida for a new job last month. I love authentic Mexican food and I'm having a hard time finding a good spot. I know, I move closer to the border and had better food available back in Florida. With me, life revolves around food Lol, so let me know your favorite Mexican restaurant so I can check them out. Thanks in advance.

I would also ask for the best sushi place in town but it may not be appropriate in the reef forums Lol.

Most of the Mexican you find here is not authentic Mexican, it is Sonoran or New Mexico style.

If you want a taste of a more authentic Mexico City Mexican cuisine, try LA PARRILLA SUIZA or Comedor Guadalajara.

If you want spicy New Mexican but with lots of flavor, try Los Dos Molinos.

A Phoenix favorite for Sonoran is the original Garcia's on 35th Ave near I10.

If you're in chandler either near chandler blvd and i10, or near chandler blvd and Arizona ave, El Ranchero Mexican Grill is my go to spot for Mexican food. Everything is super fresh, the owners are great people, and they're always game to make you a custom burrito to your liking.

I agree with Comedor Guadalajara and I also like Carolinas, especially for the tamales. I always to take-out. They have a dining room but the ambiance is a little lacking. The food make up for it.

My favorite sushi place is Hiro in Scottsdale, but my favorite Japanese restaurant is Yasu Sushi Bistro. Ironically, I don't go to Yasu for sushi but for their special Sashimi plates as well as the Sumiyaki dishes.

Mi Patio on 7th ave and osborn & have great mini chimies, ta carbon 3 locations and have the best carne asada tacos, LA Fonda Del Sol in Scottsdale is good too. If your looking for sea food mariscos. I'd avoid food chain places like filabertos, rolibertos, hibertos and all those places aren't my cup of tea

Oh and for the best tamales restaurant bought would definitely be "old el Paso tamales" its somewhat east valley but Yea you won't regret those green chili and cheese tamales!

Cool, more restaurants to try out :), thanks guys.

Taco bell... No way Jose. Ive tried Filibertos, Rolobertos and Hibertos and they all fall under the taco bell catagory.

All sorts of great places around. Personally I love Los Dos Molinos. New Mexican style.
Many people love Rositas place on McDowell. Pedro's in Glendale has amazing machaca quesadillas. Restaraunt Mexico in Tempe is loved by many. There are a bout a zillion taco joints in central Phoenix, almost all of which are pretty good. Also if you are into seafood, there is a bunch of Mariscos places, most of which are also pretty good. My personal face is Mariscos Alcapulco on McDowell near 36 th st.Great Albondigas axel Camaron soup.
This is barely a sampling of what's available if you want Mexican food, you moved to a good place. Just start exploring.

Taco bell is American food Lol.

I'm looking for traditional dishes like mole poblano, mole Verde, actual handmade corn tortillas and not machined made. Trust me, if youve had traditional mexican food before youll see there is a big difference. I've been to 20 different places and none of what I'm looking for :(. I'll continue my search though and visit the spots suggested except taco bell.
