You can put anything you want in with a mantis. Only problem is that everything you put into the tank is a potential meal :fun2: You really have to know what kind of mantis you want to know what you can keep in there. If you want a spearer, fish will be there meal. If you want a smasher, crustations will be there meal. I have put hermits in both of my mantis tanks. One mantis will kill the hermits, and the other mantis hasn't even touched them. I also have a gorilla crab with my larger mantis (1.5") and they get along fine, despite the few swings they take at each other every now and then. I also have a damsel in each of the tanks and the mantis shrimps have not bothered them.
