Well I can finally join the club of people stung by their lions!!! Stupid me for thinking that they could not sting through the glove! So now I am sitting here with a throbing burning finger thinking that was really dumb.

The moral of the story lions will sting though aqua gloves!!!
lesson learned:bum: :bum: :D

sorry to laff but lol ( i am laffing in sympathy though i have been there)

what kind of lion was it i got nailed by my dwarf zebra right on the knuckle it was like the worst bee sting ever

lol
hope the pain goes away real soon u try the hot water thing what about meat tenderiser heard that helps.

Wow, I was wondering if they could sting through those gloves..... Now I know!!!! Thanks for testing it out for us.....lol

Sucks to get stung!!! I know your pain....

Are you talking about those coralife full length aqua gloves, the orange and purple ones? I have those and they're pretty thick gloves, I wouldn't think a lionfish could get thru those!

What kind of lion fish do you have? I only have a dwarf fuzzy, I don't think it could sting me thru the aqua gloves, maybe a big volitan could. I haven't paid much attention to where the lion fish is when wearing gloves, maybe I should now!

Yep the orange and blue coralife gloves. It is a 8" volitian, I'll try and post a pic latter. The finger is still kind of warm feeling but does not hurt any more. Yup that is one hell of a bee sting!!!

ahhh...memories of the Jersey shore giant jellyfish!

All too familiar :D
I have a dwarf in my 55 and I can't tell you how cautious I am of where he is at all times. Lesson learned people.

Man that just looks like it would be painful. But they say that the dwarf's pack just as powerful a sting as the bigger ones. Hope everything works out ok.

Oh great! Another little tidbit I just learned. I'm glad I read these forums! I need to be extra careful now. :eek1:

How did it happen? Your fault for brushing up against him? Or a deliberate attack by him? Details, please, details! :hammer:

It was my fault. I just felt indistructable with my big aquagloves on. I was cleaning the glass and he was in my way, so being the big shot with the gloves, I gave him a nudge. Big mistake he gave me a nudge right back!!

I have one that is always in the way when I am cleaning, I sometimes wear gloves, other times I just sit still until it moves....lol

I have not been stung while cleaning, I was stung during feeding time, I did not look, put some food in not realizing a lion was right there.

I almost did the same thing with a long spine urchin.I had my hand in the tank to remove a veggie clip;forgot all about the urchin and missed him by an inch or so.never been stung so I couldn't compare a lion sting to an urchin sting but I heard urchins pack a good punch as well.
