Our clownfish have been laying a very nice clutch of eggs every 13-14 days now. It so exciting watching them prepare their favorite site, lay the eggs, fertilize the eggs, grooming them, the female will bring the male food, and when she doesn't, she will watch the nest and he fends for him self.
They has been very successful at this, and then the babies are born and become fish food
I have been dong a lot of research on rearing the fry, and it is a lot of work! I have been reading a book written by Joyce D. Wilkerson, she has a wealth of knowledge on clownfish!
I think I have finally talked Ed into letting me at least try to raise the babies...
BUT.....
I need to be successful with the phytoplankton, then I will try to raise clownfish.
I feel like a child asking for a new puppy, really I'll take good care of it
I have been collecting some equipment too, my daughter has a 39 gallon cube she is not using with a nice light, I have my refugium from the 120 and I have Ed's protein skimmer from his 135.... and a few other misc. pieces I'll need. I can move the clownfish in there so they can relax and lay the eggs in peace.
I can pick up a 10 or 20 gallon glass tank for almost nothing for the babies.
Oh, I have been collecting 2 liter bottles to grow phytoplankton.
It really is amazing how much I have collected without Ed really noticing
I have been reading here on phytoplankton:

We are going to have house FULL of children this summer, my 2 nieces, Ed's son and hopefully our precious granddaughter will be here too, so we now have a project to do.
Everyone is very excited about the new project except Ed.
