Our 2 year old is a mini reefer in training

+1 when I went on a cruise, the boy cared for my tanks for 7 days. Funny thing is, the tanks looked better than ever.

I wish my son would check my tank more but my family leaves me all alone in the reef.

As i re read this post thought to myself that may not be such a bad thing.

Very cool! My wife and kids could care less about my tanks. If anything they would probably sabotage them if they knew I wouldn't drop $1500 to get them back up and running, lol

My kids haven't paid much attention to my tanks but recently they have become more interested. Once I named a fish Peter, after my son, he all of a sudden liked the tank more. My daughter Sadie does Science Olympiad and this year I am coaching water quality which deals with marine life, coral reefs and estuaries. They have to build their own refractometer, learn about what effects the worlds reefs and become good at water testing among other things. This Monday was our first meeting, we toured my tanks and they asked tons of questions about all the things they were seeing, many for the first time. It was really fun for me to share my love of all things reef and hear them say on the way out how much they learned.
