I agree - I would like 18 inch except for the fact the tunze's need to be a little higher in the column so not a direct blow on life - they need about at least 4 inches and 18-4 = 14 inches of rock work/corals, etc is not enough for me

Go for a 120 and get 24" width. It makes so much of a difference!!

I want length over width right now. In order to get a 6 foot long tank with a 24 inch depth I would have to go with a 180 gallon tank and that is a significant increase in price over the 110 long. I agree though, the more width the better but 18 inches is enough for me.

congrats on your article

I see many fish when diving with those parasites

Thanks everyone, it looks it is time to use the drill bits tonight!

Not good news......Bob changed the bulbs in the TEC hood today, and the 2 lights did not light.....so it's a problem with the hood.
Now he's ticked because I just spent $115 for new bulbs.
He also threw out the box they came in, so there isn't anything to ship them back in.
I think it's going to be a bad day.

Well you will need the bulbs eventually so buy them now or buy them later what difference does it make.

I would be more upset that something is going on with the hood.

I meant he threw out the box the lights came in.....so there's nothing to ship the hood back in.
He just took it apart, and can't even get to the ballast to see if that's the problem.
I'm going to wait till noon to call Greg and see what he says we need to do.

I spoke with Greg. Being we don't have the box to ship the lights back, he said he could send us a ballast. The thing is......it's nearly impossible to get to the ballast to replace it. So, he gave us the # to sunlight supply, and I spoke with someone asking how to get to the ballast.
He said it was a job and that if we did it ourselves, it would void the warranty on the lights.
So, we'll go to FedEx or UPS and get packaging from them to ship the lights back.
Sunlight will send us an email today which will have the shipping label.

Being the tank has no lights, we decided to just put the pc lights I never used on. At least it's something so the fish don't think they live in Alaska when there is no light for days on end.

The color doesn't look so bad in the pictures....but it is very "dull" looking into the tank right now.

pat, what pc lights do you have? i was thinking of buying some new lights for my f/o tank. if there 4 FT, do you want to sell after your tec hood is fixed?

It's just a little coralife (?) pc that came with the tank. Dual 30w. I found RC after we ordered the tank, and found out I needed better lights if I was going to do more than FO. So we bought the T-5's.
We've had these lights for over a year now and never used them, so we just threw them on the tank, so the fish have some light.

You're more than welcome to the lights when we're thru with them.
We'll "swap" some things.

Pat, Didn't you have a 120? If so, was it acrylic?

By the way.... have some new additions to the tank but the Tangs have been real bullies and I haven't been able to get some pics yet. :D Very very happy with them though and they ate like crazy today!! By the way the Kole tang was acting, you'd think it was on Steroids!:eek1:

No problem Bob...

No Brian, we have a 90 acrylic. The tank I sold was like a 102g glass.

I really liked the glass tank so much better. It's very difficult getting nice pictures with the acrylic.

BTW, I got the learning cd for my brand camera that you told me about. Now I just need to see what it says. I got it yesterday, but haven't been feeling great the past few days, so I haven't tried it yet.

You have a response and an email! :D

Home Depot sells "AquaMend", which only costs approx. $3
If you but the stuff at a LFS, it will be around $10. It's a 2 part epoxy and will work just fine for what you want to do. I have it here but haven't used it yet.

i just wonder if it's any different that the stuff i use on my models. any 2 part epoxy doesn't need air to cure
