Outdoor Pond

Hey all,

Not sure exactly where to start this or even if it's in the right section. I know I've come across some threads that had the word "pond" in it but I am looking to possibly start one up. We have a decent space in the front yard where we always hang out anyways that I'd like to put one in. I remember years ago we used to have one at my old house, but very small. It was a fake type of waterfall with that plastic tub you buried in the ground.

Any links I can read just to get general novice knowledge on ponds? I'd like a koi pond. Not sure of size yet but not too big. I want to do all the research I can (unlike the mistakes I made when I first started reefing).

I haven't really searched out a forum for ponds but I built mine after looking at multiple sites, youtube videos, and I have a local pond supply store that helps me with the oddball questions (sometimes... usually we're all stumped). I google searched ponds for about 3-4 months before jumping in and after my initial build I have rebuilt and replaced some things... just like reefing, should have bought the good stuff first instead of going the cheapo route....

Here is a quick shot of my pond after initial setup (has changed since, mostly the waterfall area). Main pool is 70ish gallons, upper pool is about 20 gallons... not big enough for koi but my two turtles love it!
