over populated with shrooms!

I've had the tank now for 6 months and am ready to start thinning out. I've too many mushrooms, they are annoying the birds nest and the kenya trees.

I've also too many frag's from trying to find the best place for the birds nest. The nest is growing like a weed, as are the frags.

The toadstool leathers are absolutely huge, can they be pruned?

So, how do I go about selling/giving away shrooms, frags, etc.? Is there a protocol for this?

nicest thing to do is find a local reef club, or local online reef club. lotsa people are always starting out, looking for things cheap or free. good karma for you too

Hey i would love to know what if anything you dose to get them to grow? Just wondering if there is maybe something you use? and ya giving them away for cheap or free to a local newbie is def good Karma! thats how i got my skimmer(and he said a Seaclone 100 wasn't that good its working GREAT on my tank!!!)

Honestly, it's just luck. I just do top offs every few days, try to change 10 gallons weekly (though sometimes it stretches to monthly).

Thanx for the suggestion. I found a local club that meets next week. I'll go and find out what the rules are.

you can frag the toadstool quite easily.....

Yup, pretty much everything you listed can just be cut up with scissors or razorblade. I'd use the blade to trim the toadstool and the scissors to remove the mushrooms. Sometimes, if the rock's kinda smooth you can scrape them off with your thumbnail.
