Overfeeding BTA

I know this has been asked many times and most recommend feeding between 2 and 5 times per week with more saying 2-3 times per week. What happens though, if I am feeding it a small shrimp 3 times per week and my clowns are feeding it small bits of flake every time I feed them? The anemone seems to eat the flake and always eats the shrimp. How long does it take the anemone to digest food and wont it have problems if it is trying to expel waste but the clowns feed it at the same time?

It depends on who you ask... I very rarely feed my BTAs (15+) - they just get what the fish miss. I probably spot feed my nems maybe once a month or every 2 months. They all are healthy and have great color. If I had to estimate on the digestion - I would say I see my nems 'poop' 3 days after a feeding. If your nem doesn't want the food, it will spit it out or let go of it.

yeah, most nems will disregard food if they aren't hungry. Mine just lets go of it and the cleaner shrimp and reef lobster take care of it.

I guess I've noticed this on the rare occasion when some random brine dropped into the tentacles, stuck, then were released shortly after.

I've never fed mine on a regular basis but I wanted to encourage this one to get massive faster than with just strong lighting. I'd agree that sometimes after feeding mine, they poop about 3 days later. I guess I'll try additional feedings and just make sure the food is small bits so hopefully that wont clog its pie hole/poop shoot.
