Overflow and return pump...

I am starting up a 75 gallon FOWLR tank. I have a cpr cs50 overflow box which is rated at 300GPH. I also just bought a return pump that is rated at 700GPH. Will these work together or will I not be able to keep my water level the same in my sump? Is the return pump too fast for the overflow box I have?

You just need to put a ball valve on the return from your sump and dial it down. Maybe start a little less than half way and go from there. Be sure though to watch the water level for a little while, it can take time if even off a few GPH for you to notice.

The ball valves should be sold at any fish store? And are universal to any pump?
