ok so i had a powerhead pumping water from my tank into my intake chamber to my sump didnt have my overflow box yet and i had to keep adjusting my return pump every day or two but now my overflow box is hooked up with my u tube doing its thing now the water level is staying like it should and i dont have to adjust my return pump my question is because i have my sump set up like i should does this mean my return pump will not have to be tweaked all the time im thinking yes cause the sump is now hooked up properly

i figured it out the pump is pushing what its giving to the overflow box meaning its matching its own flowrate instead of it trying to match the powerhead that was there before

Wow...I must say I have never heard of anyone doing what you did by pumping water to the sump with a pump, then trying to match that with a pump in the sump to return it to the display...

Thats impressive!!

Im glad you didnt cause a flood or burn up a pump....but yes you answered your own question. So long as your overflow doesnt get clogged your flow to your sump will always match your sumps pump output.....
