Overflow GPH Advise

Hi!
I am looking to have a Skimming overflow box made for a 29 long and most S/O box's are large, taking up too much area within the tank.
Here's the link to the company I am working with.
http://www.aquacrylics.com/aquarium_filters.htm
They have indicated that they are interested in this project and possibly adding the new item to their product line.
I need advise on the proper GPH flow rates for tanks. And is more the better?

Thanks Greg

I have a lifereef overflow and it's rated for 700GPH and it's for my 29 g I also have one on my 46 g bow

I was thinking 300gph for 10 times tank volume. 600-700 gph wow, lots of water flow, I think I have a lot to learn.
