Overflow help

Just picked up a used 125g acrylic and need some help with the overflow setup. The tank is not pre drilled, so I have some options with the overflow location as I will be drilling the holes, but I've never installed an overflow after the fact, all of my previous tanks have come with the overflow preinstalled.

I think my biggest question is the dimensions of the actual overflow box and if that matters or factors in to my sump setup/pump size, etc.

I would like to mount the overflow in the center and if possible have it run all the way to the bottom of the tank. But again, I don't know if the size of this is a factor at all.

In addition, the tank has a blue backround which Im not the biggest fan of, but I got a great deal on it so Im going to live with it. I haven't come across many stores that offer blue acrylic overflows, so if someone could point me in the right direction with that as well I would appreciate it. I've attached a picture of the tank for reference (sorry about the mess, Im midway through a stand canopy build for it).

I really recommend the Bean Animal Coast to Coast setup, It gives more space than bottom drilled tanks, as your overflow is much smaller, promotes surface skimming which removes the greasy layer on your water, it is dead silent and fairly inexpensive.

I've looked over that and am going to go with Bean's setup, would you recommend going with an internal or external box with that? Also, other than accommodating the plumbing, is there a certain width the box needs to be? Thanks!

Internal is far simpler, most width are 2-2.5" Top of the overflow weir is the bottom of the tank trim.
