Im setting up my overflow on thursday and im trying to figure out what i can do to stop the flushing toilet noice that i know im going to get!

i already know about a standpipe and a few people told me about using an airline tubing, or putting some foam overtop of the tube...

...my main tank is 26 gals, my fuge/sump is 33 gals (only using 25 gals)

my return pump is a mag 7 but after all of the loses, it will be around 380 gph...

if you need any more information, let me know!?!

open for any and all suggestions!

Thanks!

waxxieman...is ur overflow setup and running right now? if so, please let me know how the airline tubing works...i've been told that they can sometimes be tricky...

anyone ever do something different then a standpipe that worked really well?

Thanks guys!

Durso or Stockman standpipe modification will work.

Airline tube down the standpipe will work too, and it'll fail at 3AM. That's when you partner pokes you in the ribs and says "Fix it or I'm unplugging your tank."

Do it right the first time unless you like working on your tank at three AM in your underwear  .

yea...well i have 2 days to figure this out...im actually thinking of just using the towel idea but im sure that by the time i set everything up, it will be time for me to sleep and it might still somehow be to loud...what type of standpipe should i do...and also my external overflow is already setup with the tube...can i pvc cement the stockman to it or do i just need to shove it in there???

another thing...does a durso or stockman create a better flow, rather then just allowing the water to flow down?
