Overflow Question - Beananimal

Hey,
So I've had my tank up and running for about 2 months and installed a beananimal overflow. I'm very happy I did it, and it was totally worth the extra work. However, the past couple days it has been acting weird. It always held a really constant water level within the overflow, but I've noticed the water level fluctuating, sometime low enough to start gulping air and being noisy (thats how I noticed). I haven't changed anything or adjusted the main pipe gate valve.

Yesterday I turned the whole system off and then back on, and it went back to the normal water level. Today again, it is back to being low. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

I have not experience anything like that with mine. What size are your drains? You could have some build up inside... They still require a little maintenance from time to time.

What kind of return pump do you have? Is it dirty or clogged? If the flow is slowed for some reason this would cause a low level in the overflow.

Actually now that I think of it... The drains are fine... I think it is definitely something with the return flow. Sorry it's early and still working on my first cup of coffee.
