Overflow/Refugium?

Finally got my 112gal (36x24x30) up and running....won't be long before I can start adding coral :rollface:
I can't help but think however, how much space is wasted by my corner overflow.
Is it possible to drop some Chaeto or other macro in there (red arrow) and use it like a refugium?

i dont see why not. The only thing that i would be worried about (and its a pretty big deal) is some of the cheato making its way into the plumbing and causing your tank to overflow onto the floor.
