overflows for 120

Getting ready to order my new tank. Its going to be a 120 (48X24X24). The overflow(s) are internal corner version but trying to decide whether to have one or two. External overflows aren't an option. My return pump will have approx 600 gph (so for single may need to throttle back a little)

As I see it:

2 overflows:
Pros:
2 drains and returns
Better pull from both sides vs one sided for single

Cons:
More space taken up by additional overflow
$120 additional cost

So I guess the question is does the additional overflow provide significantly better circulation to outweigh the loss of space and additional cost. Or is the additional overflow necessary on a 48" tank.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

Definitely go with two overflows! I had a 120g and needed both for return to the sump and draining the surface water adequately...also, for providing flow from both sides of the tank is a big bonus.

I'd have to agree....then again, I'm kind of anal about things looking symmetrical too.

That's why I had my one ear surgically corrected to stick out like the other one....I didn't want to look like only half a dork.:D

If it was possible, could you have the back of the tank drilled, or have external overflows done?

That way you would not lose so much space inside your tank.
