Overkill skimmer or just right?

I'm planning my future tank which wont be getting set up for at least a year or more. But, I just want to get things down. Tank will be a 93.5 gallon DT. It will be a mixed reef, LPS, SPS, and non-photosynthetic corals. Will set up an automatic feeding system on it. Will have more and other filtration other than a skimmer, so, Is this skimmer an overkill or is it just right?

I would use some caution in purchasing a skimmer that is extremely oversized for you attended application. A efficient skimmer with a drain on the collection cup might be a wiser investment. Having a giant skimmer might look cool under the tank but if it doesn't skim your tank, what is it really worth? There a couple good articles you should look at by Ken Feldman in Advanced Aquarist on skimming and Total Organic Carbon (TOC).

Nothing against the skimmer itself because the company that makes them delivers a quality product. If you want to buy a cone design skimmer, go for it, but you might want to look at purchasing a lower rated model. A skimmer rated for a 700 gallon tank with a light bioload or 400 with a heavy bioload might be too extreme for a 93 gallon tank with a heavy bioload and not produce the end result you are looking for.

Way to much skimmer....put that cash towards something more useful....bang for the buck stuff
