They are great! just don't drink wine and see one late at night and try and grab it with your fingers..some idiot friend of mine tried to do that and it didn't go so well.. :). Darn it, that idiot friend was me!

I almost have my water changing station complete. Will post some pics soon.

My bicolor blenny did that to my "Flipper" magnetic cleaner. He would lay in the crevice where the blade and body connected.

Mad it easy to catch him when I had to give him away. Wish I could have kept him. But he was picking on my Diamond Goby and eating Acro and Digi

Those fish have crazy personalities!!

Well...First summer project is done. Completed the w.c.s . I went ahead and built a crazy stand just incase i wanted to put larger barrels on top of it. With water being about 8.4 and saltwater even more...I figured might as well make it a tank. Have two 44 gallons right now..

Have a mag 9 running the whole thing. Everything is running well and just cycling to get all dirt out of there.

On to the next project....

Very nice! I like the schedule 80 PVC. Looks sharp.

Seems like a perfect spot to lounge! They really do have interesting, quirky habits. I came home today to find that the clowns are excavating a nice pit in the sand on the right side of the tank. Totally new behavior, but they're diligently doing the semi-epileptic twitch-swim to move as much sand as possible out of their pit. Nice teamwork.

Ha! I am cheap buddy... That would be 40, but I painted it black for a clean look.

Just wait until child #2 comes along... I had to go on a big covert mission after #1 went to bed a few days ago to recover the one and only Sharpie marker I can now find in our entire house from her bedroom in order to mark my jugs of 2-part solution. Some days - as the only male in the house - I'm both shocked and thankful that the ladies have not decided that my dinner will be comprised of whatever skimmate is in the collection cup.

Seriously - looks very nice. The MBA in me is also proud of you for "aesthetically-enhanced" schedule 40. :)

That's funny! The engineer in me says it's nice but we could build it stronger and more compact...

It's close to perfect. What it needs now is the rodi hard plumbed to the fresh barrel, some float switches back to the apex, and some quick connect hose fittings. And depending on how far from the tank, a transfer pump controlled by apex....

Haha. I told my wife what you said about schedule 80, and she laughed... I am learning to be frugal in some parts. My daughter once found all my sharpies in my bag and decided to use them on the guest bedroom wall. Instead of getting mad, I just wrote the date on the wall- memories.

I was thinking about the more compacted, but I have the room so I was like why not. I did put a beam under the piping just in case someone ( my daughter) decided to step on it.

Don't worry. It is strong, I should have taken a pic before putting the top on. Those beams you're looking at are 4 x 4 posts. Have 6 of them in there with cross supports on top, and sides. I think maybe i went too much, but I did not want a remote chance at all and if I want to go bigger later I can.

I guess I need to take more pics :). Rodi is hard wired in with a float switch. I am already thinking about how I can run more tubing up through the floor and do wc that way. I do like the idea of awc through the apex.

I need to start preparing this tank for vacation. We leave for two weeks and I need to make sure it is stable.

Reduck you going with the aquamaxx dry rock again? Trying to weigh about the options. I need to get it and start cooking it soon

Oh yea. If I look close, by the litter box, I can see the rodi tubing back there..
If you are going to go the route of plumbing up to the tank area, use PEX!

absolutely. I love that stuff. Its so porous and light weight. My shipments will start arriving today! I think the delivery guys will need tipping..big box of sand, followed by big box of rocks..

Been racking my brain trying to decide if I want to try the wide angle lenses on the Radion or just use the 2 and call it a day. The wide lenses disperse up to 36"..but it reduces PAR. So I'd have to run it at higher power....

Christmas is coming early! I think I am going to do aquamaxx again as well.

That wire is for my pumps in the freshwater to keep the water moving. I have the tubing wired on the ceiling and then it comes into the back.

Love this thing.

Got some new Acros in today.. 15 frags in all..

I now know how it got its name as "Green Slimer"..

And my Diamond Goby is not particulatly happy with me.. All the frags are in the sand bed acclimating to the light, not leaving him much room to sift.. He sits in the corner staring at me like "*** is this!?"

Tried a handheld macro shot of one of the new corals. Need to get a tripod and better macro lens.

This is either a green Stylo or Rainbow Pocillopora.

Hard to tell since most still have polyps closed up.
