Oxycirrhites typus in SPS tank ?

I was wondering if it would be a problem to have a pair of Oxycirrhites typus in an SPS tank. This fish is supposed to hide in gorgonians but I don't have any in my tank.

This is my tank..... and I wouldn't want these fish to damage the acros just because they want to seat on them.

Any experience with this fish in an SPS tank ?

By the way...... I don't have any shrimp.

Thanks for the answers.......

I had the same concerns about perchin on corals. I guess then that this is a no no.

Thanks again.

I wouldnt worry about it. Is it any worse than your snails "perching" on corals, or crabs "perching on corals", etc?

I think people are way too paranoid about this stuff... IMO, if its not trying to eat, or damaging the flesh of the coral, dont worry about it

theres absolutely nothing wrong with them perching, I have a couple of lawnmower blennies and they perch all the time on my corals, and never have I seen any problems from it.

They are more of a danger to small shrimp like Peppermints than the SPS. Plus they are prone to jumping so be careful with that.

Wel..... I decided to give the Oxycirrhites typus a try so I bought a couple of them. Until know, there have been no problems with them. They haven't been aggresive with other fish and they are spending a lot of time on the rocks instead of the corals.

This is a picture of one of them.

They are great little fish but they are jumpers. I had one jump out and somehow ended up on the floor in front of the tank with a full canopy on it. Amazing that it found some way to get out. Poor little guy shriveled up in the night. Now I have an open top so there is no way to have these fish in my tank. I hope they work out for you, they are pretty.
