Smooshing the pellets seems to have worked somewhat. Not their first choice for food, but they are picking at it. They've also started eating frozen formula 1. Seems like once they learn how to eat foods other than coral they have no problem eating every and anything they can fit into their mouths. Another week or 2 and into the 180 they shall go!

Have people been successful maintaining specimens obtained from blue zoo. I'm never fast enough to get them off DD!

Never ordered anything from blue zoo, but they have a good rep.

It took me months to get them from DD. I kept checking the "sneak peaks" and if a pair was being offered I'd start monitoring the DD web site around 5:30 PM EST, constantly refreshing the page until the new fish were offered. If the OSFF appeared I'd purchase'em. Twice someone bought them right out of my shopping cart before I could finish paying!

I noticed the sun hitting the tank the other afternoon so I thought I would take a little video. Sorry for the quality. There's just nothing like the way actual sunlight brings out the colors in fish and corals.

After 3 weeks in QT my pair of OSFF are chowing down on mysis, frozen formula 1, softened NLS pellets, cyclopeeze and nutramar ova. So I introduced them to their new home last night, my 180 FOWLR. This morning they appeared to be more interested in checking out their new surroundings and picking at the rocks than eating. Hopefully, they'll take a break and eat something tonight.

Their tankmates have no idea what to make of the new neighbors. Everyone swam up to the OSFFs (who promptly ignored them), stared, gave the equivalent of a fishy shrug and went on about their business.

I haven't ever seen a pair of these on DD but try and check it regularly.

If someone doesn't mind sharing could you post the price you paid or PM me?

I think I might try and set up a 60g cube for these fish for the significant other...she has always loved them but we both are aware how difficult they are.

I feel the DD specimens would give us a leg up...and I work from home now so weaning would be a little easier.

Hey Monkeyfish, have you tried any Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes. Mine love them and I think Greg and Renee's do too. Just crush em up a bit.

I don't have much in the way of a camera, but I'll see if I can get some "film" over the weekend. Haven't tried the flakes yet, but I may pick some up if I make it to the LFS this weekend.

The OSFF pair ate well this morning and, in addition to the previously mentioned foods, they have also started eating live black worms (which I usually add to the tank for the CBB). These guys will eat anything.

They look nice and fat, Eric. Well done. Isn't it cool to have them as part of community tank? They're great community fish, I think. A species tank would be nice, but having 'em with other fish is the best. Good luck!

Initially I was worried about how they would do in the 180, but they appear to be doing just fine. They swim all over the tank and are usually together. At times, they separate, but they tend to meet up quickly and the male then does this little wiggle-dance as if to scold her for leaving.

Next addition to the tank will be a tassled filefish which is currently in QT and eating mysis and squid.
