Ozone Drinking Water Purifier = RO Unit?

I am setting up a 120 Gallon tank. I thought my wife bought a RO unit, but apparently it's an activated carbon filter with ozone. Can anyone tell me if I can use this safely for my tank? Below is a description of the device. Will it really take out all the chlorine/chloromine in my NY tap water? thoughts? Can someone describe the science in lay terms. Thx.

I would like to know more about this myself. If a water filter system could remove Cl, Po4, other heavy elements and leave Mg, and Ca would be ideal. There is a water treatment specialist on RC, may be able to help us with this subject.

What you have is an expensive filter that removes tastes and odors and uses ozone to disinfect the water. Ozone is a very powerful disinfectant but leaves no residual like chlorine.
You still need a RO/DI.

I'm betting that it wouldn't do much to lower the TDS of the water.

Brita filters and the like don't really do squat.
