wondering if ozonizers , ozone making machines actually help when keeping sps or are they generally nice to have period? What major benefits do they bring to the hobby? And do you have one?
Any intel is appreciated..

i use ozone on my SPS tank all the time.. a cheap weipro 200mg/h set at half with a little 50lph air pump. keeps dinos at bay ;)

I have been using ozone for over 20 years. On my current system I run a 500mg/hr ozonizer at full bore 24/7 - Ozone is a great water clarifier and most SPS are happier with cleaner and clearer water.

Keeps dino's away ? how about cyano or other algae blooms? Can it help in the winter when the tanks ph drops because the furnace comes on . My tank is in the basement and I had to open the small window to allow extra o2 into the house and to keep my ph at 8.0.would the O3 machine help boost the ph?

In theory when the O3 breaks apart, as it is highly unstable it should boost the o2. However, I don't know if anyone has tested this science.

And since the ozonizer is pulling the O out of the existing room, it might actually work against your pH issue.

I still think fresh air ventilation would be a priority.
