P. Ciliata Temps

What temperatures can these guys handle and what temps are best for them? I am placing one in a SPS only tank and the temp in that tank with the Halide will probably be around 80-82deg in the summer, will this be ok for him?

And I just want to double check before I buy one, they wont be negatively affected by the intense lighting correct?

Thanks,

P. ciliata comes from all over the world (except the east coast) in tropical and temperate climates. 80-82 F would be fine. They are also found living near the surface (above 5m) so they should be fine in the strongest lights you can provide within reason. Just make sure it has a nice dark burrow and some shade. Also, just making sure, you don't have a bare bottom tank do you? They need some substrate.

No I decided to go with black sand, I think it will make the mantis look cool and I think it will make the color of the sps and clams 'pop'. I am going to set up multiple burrows for him to use as shelters as well. And its a 150W MH over a 15gallon tank...... what do you think?

Thank you for the responses thus far,
