Hello i am wanting to get a blue tang and wanted to know what you all would think. I have a 90 gal. with a clown fish and coral beauty. I am wanting a j.v. blue tang or a yellow or puple tang. wat should i get? and how much trobble you all think imma have with it

If you are talking about Acanthurus coeruleus (Atlantic Blue Tang) the recommend tank size is 125 gallons. But if you are truly considering a Paracanthurus hepatus (Pacific Blue or Regal or Hippo Tang) the recommended tank size is 240 gallons. For other tangs, see this post.

Both tangs aren't suited for a 90 and I wouldn't keep an Atlantic Blue Tang in a 125. They get bigger than most Acanthurus commonly kept. Plus I have also heard reports of them becoming aggressive as they grow.

You don't want to get a juvi and then trade it in when it gets too big, because it will slow its growth and the fish won't grow like it normally would in your system. Get a fish that is suited to your size tank so it can live a long life in your tank or upgrade first.

I agree both types of blue tang are not suited to your size tank. I would also recommend one of the smaller Ctenochaetus or bristletooth tangs.

Also you may want to check some of the spelling in your signature. Zoanthids, xenia, and you listed live rock twice ;)
