Package Part 2 on it's way... and a question

Hi all,

I just confirmed with Richard that I will be recieving my part 2 of the package on Monday... can't wait. :)

I just started having zero ammonia today and I also noticed a brown algae-looking film on the sand and some of the rocks. It seems to have spread pretty quickly. Is that a bad sign of something? Is there anything I should do to remove it? Or will the CUC take care of that once they're introduced on Monday?

Thanks for the advice, and I'll post pictures after aquascaping the second part of the package. :)

The brownish stuff are diatoms. As I understand it, they are a normal part of the aging process in a new saltwater tank. You can scrub 'em off the glass, and they should naturally disappear off the rock/substrate with time. Don't know if the cleanup crew will eat them or not.

Enjoy Part 2!

The cleanup crew will definatly go after the daitomes but as with all things it will take time. I've found with the second part that the filter feeders love the diatomes in the water to feed off of.

Got package #2 from Richard today. So much life! I knew he threw in extras, but this is above and beyond all expectations. Will post some pics soon... I promise...

I finally have pictures!

Well, that didn't work... hmmm...

I think they might be too large. Try reducing to 800x600 (seems to be a nice viewing size) The code looks correct and the pics come up when you copy the url into the add bar. I think the page format is just booting them out cuz they are like 2 pages wide.

Gotcha, I'll try again from home later. Don't have the original pics on my work comp, and don't really have the time to resize while here. Thanks, noahm.

I bet it is the "+" in your URL that is causing the problem. You can click on your links here to view in a new tab or window:
