Paging the gono. affinis experts!

I think that I've got a Gonodactylellus affinis, and I'm not sure what to do with it. White pointy eyes are a dead giveaway (I think). I'd really like to have a mantis that has some character and comes out to say hello from time to time, etc., but from what I've read on the list, the affinis is a cave dweller and that's it. Any anecdotal information on them from anyone?

Also, any tips for providing him with a happy living environment? I really want him to be happy, and if that means that I can put him with other animals without fear, then all the better.

Any other affinis caretakers out there who can comment?

How big is it. G. a rarely are larger than about 25 mm. Also, it should have a tell tale light line running just at the front of the telson from uropod to uropod. Deepwater specimens (>10 m) are usually pink or red (can be mottled). Animals from 5 m or so can be brown or green and tan mottled. They will dart out of their cavity to catch live brine, but that is about all the excitiement you can expect. If they have a nice cavity, they can coexist with nonj-carnivorous fish.

I've never seen it come out of its cave. The only things I'm working on in terms of ID is the white pointy eyes and the fact that it seals up its cave about the time the lights should be going off. I'm pretty sure that based on the size of the eyes and the hole it's in (can't be much bigger than the diameter of a #2 pencil), it's pretty darn small.

Any way to lure it out so I can make an ID?
